The Volunteer Commitment
We recognize that our volunteers have busy schedules and other commitments. We are grateful for whatever time someone can devote to us! We will work with each volunteer to arrange a day and time of the week that fits with our volunteer needs and the volunteer’s schedule. Volunteer opportunities include working in our kitchen and Community Cafés, Community Market, mobile food pantries, Meals on Wheels, the Able Garden and more!

Community Cooperative Volunteer Tips- Sam’s Community Café & Kitchen
- Background checks are conducted on any volunteer who will provide individual services to our customers.
- For those volunteers who drive as part of their volunteer service, we must have a current driver’s license and vehicle insurance information.
- Florida State Law provides protection to volunteers who “act in good faith within the scope of any official duties performed under such volunteer services…”

How to Become a Volunteer
Once your application is received, the Volunteer Services Office will run a background check. In the meantime, check out all the opportunities where you can help!
The Volunteer Services Office will contact you to set up an interview in person or via phone.
Your application will NOT be accepted if you have a criminal record involving felonies.
Acceptance of application is based upon current program need, ability and history of applicant.

Please note: All volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes. Volunteers in our Sam’s Community Cafe Kitchen require a hair net or hat.
