Florida Council on Aging Awards Community Cooperative’s Meals on Wheels of Southwest Florida 2026 Quality Senior Living Award
FORT MYERS, Fla. (August 2026) – Meals on Wheels of Southwest Florida, a program of Community Cooperative, has been honored with the 2026 Quality Senior Living Award by the Florida Council on Aging in recognition of its outstanding commitment to improving the lives of older adults throughout Southwest Florida.
The Quality Senior Living Award recognizes organizations that demonstrate excellence in supporting seniors through innovative programs, compassionate service, and a commitment to helping older adults live healthier, more independent lives.
“We are incredibly honored to receive the 2026 Quality Senior Living Award from the Florida Council on Aging,” said Stefanie Ink, CEO of Community Cooperative. “This recognition belongs to our dedicated staff, volunteers, partners, and supporters who make our Meals on Wheels program possible every day. Together, we’re doing so much more than delivering meals—we’re delivering compassion, dignity, and peace of mind to our neighbors who rely on us.”
Each weekday, Meals on Wheels of Southwest Florida delivers hundreds of freshly prepared meals to homebound neighbors who are unable to shop or cook for themselves due to age, illness, or disability. Volunteer drivers also provide an important wellness check and friendly visit, often serving as the only in-person interaction some recipients have throughout the day.
“Receiving this award reinforces the importance of ensuring that every older adult has access to nutritious food and the opportunity to age with dignity and independence,” Ink added. “As our senior population continues to grow, so does the need for community support to ensure no one is left behind.”
Community Cooperative extends its gratitude to the Florida Council on Aging for this distinguished recognition and to the volunteers, donors, community partners, and staff whose ongoing commitment makes the Meals on Wheels program possible.
