FORT MYERS, Fla. (July 29, 2024) – Community Cooperative is thrilled to announce that their Community Engagement Director, Janelle Olson, has completed her certification as a Volunteer Administrator from the Council For Certification in Volunteer Administration. With a deep commitment to service and a passion for fostering connections within our community, Janelle Olson has been an invaluable asset to their organization.
Her certification signifies a significant milestone in her dedication to Community Cooperatives’ mission. She is pivotal in maximizing and spreading their impact throughout southwest Florida. At Community Cooperative, volunteerism is the heart of everything they do. They rely heavily on the dedication and generosity of individuals who drive their initiatives forward. With her skills and expertise, Community Cooperative can continue elevating community engagement efforts to new heights.
“It is a privilege to work in an industry where I can witness pure, altruistic generosity. Volunteering and service to others was woven into me at a young age and it has shaped me personally and professionally,” says Janelle Olson, Community Cooperative’s Community Engagement Director. “My first professional job was as a Volunteer Director, which ignited my passion to create and lead programs that engage, support, and acknowledge the work of volunteers. I began volunteering during COVID as a Meals on Wheels driver, which is operated in southwest Florida by Community Cooperative and, after many years in the for-profit world, I was quickly drawn back into the nonprofit sector. I am genuinely blessed to work for Community Cooperative and am continually in awe at the passion our volunteers have for our mission and the people we serve.”
