Community Cooperative Launches “School’s Out, Hunger’s Not” Summer Campaign to Fight Child Hunger in Southwest Florida
FORT MYERS, Fla. (June 16, 2025) – Now that the school year has ended, Community Cooperative has launched its annual “School’s Out, Hunger’s Not” campaign to address the rise in child hunger during the summer months.
“Food insecurity doesn’t take a summer break,” said Stefanie Ink Edwards, CEO of Community Cooperative. “Through this campaign, we’re working to ensure that every child in our community has access to the nourishment they need—even when school isn’t in session.”
The campaign provides Hungry Hungry Kiddo Kits—nutritious, easy-to-eat grab-and-go meal kits—through Community Cooperative’s Mobile Food Pantries, partner organizations, Community Market, and Sam’s Community Café & Kitchen.
These kits help ensure children stay full and healthy throughout the summer, regardless of their family’s circumstances.
How the community can help:
With a gift of any amount, community members can support the effort and make a direct impact. Every dollar donated goes toward ensuring local children have the meals they need to thrive throughout the summer. To donate or learn more, visit CommunityCooperative.com or call 239-332-7687
