Community Cooperative Annouces Volunteer Awards for 2017

Community Cooperative honored hundreds of its volunteers at the Volunteer Appreciation Reception, held April 4, 2017, at The Crowne Plaza in Fort Myers. “We extremely blessed to have some of the most dedicated volunteers here at Community Cooperative. They contribute countless hours of their time without ever asking for anything in return,” says Tracey Galloway, CEO of Community Cooperative.

Volunteer of the Year: Kathy Saura
Rising Star: Cindy VanHamlin
Volunteer Groups of the Year: Trafalgar Middle School Builders Club
The Canadian Ladies Group
Meals on Wheels Driver of the Year: Donald Clarkson
“Volunteer Spirit” Award: Diane Hawkins
“In the 33 years we have been serving our neighbors in need, multiple-thousands of volunteer hours have assisted in facilitating the programs we provide to our clients,” added Galloway. “Our Meals on Wheels delivery volunteers drove over 227,000 miles last year delivering nearly 100,000 meals to our homebound elderly clients. More than 2,000 dedicated volunteers donated 52,000 hours of their time. It’s an incredible amount of selfless giving.”
