“Collaborations like this are critical to fulfilling our mission to end hunger and homelessness in Southwest Florida,” said Stefanie Ink Edwards, CEO of Community Cooperative. “We are grateful to the Popeyes Foundation and Feed the Children for their commitment to helping families thrive.”
The resources provided will help to ease the uncertainty that far too many children and caregivers experience, not knowing where their next meal will come from. This event reflects the shared mission of all partners to fight hunger, and to address food insecurity in communities and raise further awareness about child hunger. With one in five children in the U.S. experiencing food insecurity, hunger remains a significant issue. Together, the organizations strive to provide the food and essentials to help kids grow and thrive.
“Partnering with Popeyes Foundation and Community Cooperative brings meaningful support to the Fort Myers community. Working together to provide food and quality of life essentials, we can make a difference in the lives of more children and their families,” said Emily Callahan, President and CEO of Feed the Children. “We are grateful for the compassionate support of our partners who stand united in our vision to create a world where no child goes to bed hungry.”
The drive-thru only event is open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
The organizations encourage everyone to join in the movement to end childhood hunger. For children everywhere, having enough to eat is a fundamental right. Supporters can help by donating at feedthechildren.org, CommunityCooperative.com or popeyesfoundation.org/donate.
